The Acoustics
& Vibration Laboratory of the Hellenic Institute of Metrology
(EIM) is responsible for maintaining and developing the national
standards of Greece in the field of Acoustics & Vibration
since 1999. It is located in building A of the Institute in
the industrial zone of the city of Thessaloniki in northern
Greece.
It
is divided into two sections an acoustics standards laboratory
responsible for calibrating microphones, sound calibrators, pistonphones
and sound level meters and a vibration laboratory responsible
for calibrating various types of acceleration sensors by laser
interferometry and by comparison.
Tasks
of the Laboratory

To
develop and maintain the national standards of Greece in
the field of Acoustics & Vibration

To
offer calibration services in private metrology laboratories,
independent public or private institutions and companies

To
issue calibration certificates for the Acoustics and Vibration
measuring instruments calibrated in the laboratory

To
offer consultancy services and training to any public /
private institution or company interested in the fields
of Acoustics and Vibration calibration and measurement
