Tasks of the Laboratory
The Low frequency laboratory is responsible for maintaining the
primary national standards, supplying calibration services, as
well as technical advice as to the maintenance and optimization
of calibration systems. It offers traceability of measurements
at calibration laboratories, research institutes and the Greek
industry. More specifically, the Low frequency laboratory is responsible
for:
-
The realization,
through quantum effects, of the electrical units of Ohm (Ù)
and Volt (V).
-
Calibration
of electrical measurement devices (DC and AC Voltage, DC
and AC Current, Resistance, Capacitance, Inductance, AC/DC
Transfer).
-
Calibrations
of Voltage and Current Transformers and Electrical Power
devices.
-
Support
and advice in the field of electrical measurements.
-
Offering
educational seminars in the field of electrical measurements
and calibrations.
-
Cooperation
with European and international metrology organizations,
to organize and participate
in national
and international interlaboratory
comparisons for the mutual recognition of the
results of the measurements and to represent
our country
in metrology organizations such as
EUROMET and other special committees.
The laboratory environmental conditions are controlled and recorded
by a central computerized system. The power supply is supported
by a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system.
