Structure
The Mass Laboratory is one of the laboratories of the HELLENIC
INSTITUTE OF METROLOGY (E.I.M.) and is part of the Mechanical
Measurements Group of the Institute. The organization chart
of the mass laboratory which represents the relationship of
the laboratory with the other departments of the institute is
shown on the organization
chart.
The activities of the Mass Laboratory are taking place in two
laboratory rooms that are placed in different buildings, located
at the following mailing address:

Rooms
and environmental conditions for measurements of high precision:
The
mass laboratory II covers an
area of 50m2 and there is also a preparation room
of 40m2. The laboratory’s floor consists of antivibrational
parts with independent foundings on top of which the mass comparison
balances are placed. The central air-conditioning unit provides
independently adjusted environmental
conditions for the lab, whereas the control of the conditions
is being held by a central computer which is part of the building
management system.
